making my home a home

Greetings again all!

Well I've been here almost two months now and I still have yet to purchase anything to make my bedroom my own.  So far I've inherited from my housemates a giant black and white print that I'm not fond of and a green floral duvet set that I'm surprisingly fond of, even though its a bit itchy.  I've got an odd assortment of weird shaped pillows and a lumpy bed.  So that means two things 1) my room is ugly and 2) its not especially comfortable.  With visitors coming next month, I need to fix this ASAP.

Now where to buy nice bedroom things in London?!  So far Ikea has been well, Ikea - bland, cheap, and sterile.  The last thing I want is a catalog bedroom.

tastes like home

Best discovery so far in London!

The closest thing I've tasted to an American cupcake since I've been here :) David and I bought 4 cupcakes today - 1 vanilla, 1 red velvet, 1 chocolate, and the best one -- chocolate with peanut butter frosting!!!  After a long day at the Tate Modern, there is nothing more I could ask for than cupcakes, tea, and good company.  Next stop: home, to curl up in bed and watch Vampire Diaries.  Now if only I could find somewhere good to buy American candy.... :)

My first post :D

Hi guys! I'm starting this blog to remember my life here in London.  I've been here since September and already its been a whirlwind! I've decided its definitely the time to start writing down what I do (a modern diary, if you will.)

Here's to many happy posts! :)
